QuickTake: Lower-Income Adults Report Being in Worse Health
Nearly one-quarter of adults with incomes at or below 138 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) report being in fair or poor health.
These low-income adults are nearly four times as likely to report being in fair or poor health as adults with incomes at or above 400 percent of FPL.
Adults in the Northeast report being more healthy than adults in other regions.
